Ahead of Soda Blonde's Beyond The Pale set this summer, Adam O'Regan shares his festival memories...

The first festival we ever played was Electric Picnic, in 2009, with Little Green Cars. We were very excited. I remember being so enamoured by the sound there. There’s nothing to compare with that sound-system, with a big subwoofer. We’d never experienced a stage that sounded like that. And to hear the drums coming back at you – it was really brilliant.
A festival slot is very different from a venue gig because you don’t have the luxury to get comfortable on-stage. You get up there quickly, do the changeover and then just fire into it. There’s a sense of danger that’s actually positive, if you can feed off of it in the right way – it teaches you to be adaptable, to be able to roll with whatever comes at you.
